Two Stitch Straps team was present at Baselworld once again. Swatch Group brands were missing this year, so the Baselworld felt a little bit smaller. Still, show saw a lot of new iterations, updates and re-releases. Here are some of our favorites.
Rolex GMT Master II Batman
Rolex presented a whole host of updated watches on Baselworld 2019, but this is the highlight of Rolex's new watches. Last year we saw the red and blue Pepsi GMT-Master get an update, and now it's Batman's turn. Just like the Pepsi, it's fitted with a Jubilee bracelet and new-generation calibre 3285, and it looks better than ever.
Tudor Black Bay P01
The P01 (Prototype 01) is inspired by a prototype designed for the US military in 1968, which never went into production. It features a unique bezel-locking mechanism, in-house calibre MT5612 with a 70-hour power reserve and a hybrid leather and rubber strap.
Solid Gold Doxa Sub 200 T. Graph Limited Edition
To celebrate 130 years of DOXA, the brand has released a solid gold diver. The piece is available on orange rubber or a solid gold bracelet with a price tag of $70,000. It uses a Valjoux 7734 hand-wound movement and it's a limited series of just 13 pieces.
Breitling Navitimer 806 1959 Re-edition
This watch is an exact replica of the 1959 806 Navitimer, with the only difference being a new in house hand-wound chronograph movement. New Navitimer is limited to 1959 pieces, all individually numbered and engraved on the caseback.
Patek Philippe Aquanaut Jumbo Ref 5168G
Compared to the previous version, the new 18k white gold Khaki Green Aquanaut 5168G is just a different color. There is no stainless steel option. Khaki Green dial and rubber strap give the watch more toolish, military look.
NOMOS Neomatik Sports Range
Nomos made a move into the diving watches market with a new sports range. The Tangente and Club are available in 42mm with 300m of water resistance. This is the first Nomos watch ever to feature a steel bracelet, which sets it apart from anything we've seen from the brand so far.
TAG Heuer Autavia Isograph
The design of the 2019 Autavia collection relies on a vintage aesthetic. This new model will be available in either stainless steel or bronze cases with 42mm diameter. The Autavia sports Calibre 5 with the new carbon composite hairspring and a 38-hour power reserve.
Seiko Prospex LX Line
Seiko introduced six new Seiko Prospex LX collection watches powered by a variety of Spring Drive calibers. Entire line features a 44.8mm titanium case and comes equipped with Seiko’s 5R Spring Drive caliber, which can generally be found in Seiko’s Grand Seiko and Credor models.
